Brunch and Brooklyn: NYC day 10

Tags | , ,

After an emphatic recommendation for Clinton Street Baking Co, we set off there for brunch. Yes, we had to wait for a table (on a Thursday morning!) but wow, was it worth the visit. Eggs Florentine with hollandaise sauce and blueberry pancakes with warmed maple butter and a side of double-smoked bacon.

Our engines fuelled, we caught the train to Queens in Brooklyn to take in MoMA PS1, a gallery dedicated to contemporary art. It was a mix of fun stuff and more serious pieces, and was definitely our favourite gallery so far. The outdoor play area set up for summer with sprinklers, bouncy balls and hammocks was a treat for weary travellers.

We also stumbled across a bunch of commercial galleries in SoHo. Takashi Murakami, Andy Warhol, Damien Hirst, Jean-Michel Basquiat… you name it, they’ve got it.
