more cut paper designs

I got a great response for the design I did yesterday so i worked on another for you. The characters and layout are from a painting I did last year, you can check it out on my other website www.dirtfish.net. hope you like it? Net time I’ll add some colour and see if that improves the design.

Cut paper design

We are working a really new exciting project experimenting with cut paper and photography. For this example I used a combination of some artwork that I did for a Melbourne art gallery and some of my own dirtfish artworks. The technique is to create a series of flat characters and environments then layer them into a 3D photo. The key is no photoshop; we are going to try to achieve all the effects in camera.

To all of you out there eagerly awaiting the daily update of the 3sidedsquare.com blog, I apologise for backdating yet another post to cover for the fact I didn’t get around to writing it yesterday. To make it up to you, here’s three links to some blogs that are fairly reliable when it comes to regular updates so you have another source of entertainment if (when) I slack off again. Clever people

I am endlessly impressed and inspired by people who think up something cool to do and then actually do it. Taking something from imagination to reality can be really hard.
