Took a trip to the Melbourne Aquarium this weekend, thought we should share some images. Fish will always cheer you up on a Monday.
It seems like everyone else in the world already has an iPhone, but that doesn’t diminish our excitement levels right now. When it comes to Apple, we’re not usually late adopters; 3SidedSquare is a Mac not a PC. No doubt the fact that we have finally scored our very own iPhones means the newest best thing ever from Apple is just around the corner.
Fitzroy Stretches have been manufacturing stretcher bars and stretching canvases for years and we wanted to do something fun with their full page ad in the Australian Art Collector magazine to let the world know that they were adding custom framing to their range of services. On a sunny Melbourne weekend after a flash of inspiration, we came up with the concept “F is for Framing” and wandered the streets snapping photos of the letter F. The advertisement needed to be bright and engaging, but maintain the Fitzroy Stretches aesthetic of strong original imagery.
Fitzroy Stretches liked the idea so much that they asked us to rework the “F is for Framing” ad to appear in the December/January issue of Art Almanac and as a banner image on the Fitzroy Stretches website. The artwork files below show the progression of the design across the different instances.

After sweating it out in front of our computers all day, we’re finally getting some sweet relief from this stinking hot Melbourne weather. This was going to be my image today:

but the grey clouds are giving me a lot more joy than colourful tiles right now.
No time to sit around in the sun. We’ve got websites to build, logos to design and a blog to update daily (we’ll see how we go with that last one). Stay tuned for pics, links and stuff that we thought might make you smile.
The Australian Poetry Centre is a Melbourne-based not-for-profit organisation that promotes the work of Australian poets. We designed and printed a promotional postcard to announce the launch of the Almeida Children’s Poetry Collection. Using “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star” on the postcard, rather than a more obscure poetry extract, made the card accessible to a broader audience. If you take a close look at the multi-coloured text, you will notice that we used a photograph of book spines as a background image.
Our brief was to create an online store showcasing the V Bike. The store had to have a navigation system where the customer could mix and match bike colours and accessories and we wanted to make it look as cool as the bikes.

The juggernautPT trainers are masters at getting their clients into shape, but when they wanted to improve the look of their business cards, they came to us. As well as designing new business cards, we also created offer cards to distribute to potential clients with great deals for personal training, bootcamp and self defence classes.
Gregg decided to import stylish high-quality bicycles from Sweden after he was unable to find anything comparable for sale in Australia. Cykla is Swedish for “ride a bike” and the logo we designed hints at bicycle spokes. As well as designing business cards, we have created countless Cykla magazine advertisements, promotional flyers and posters.
